Hindi is not merely a language; it is an expression of emotions.
It is the aspiration of the masses.
Hindi is the language that resides in the heart of Hindustan.

The sweetness of the Hindi language attracts people and enables them to express their emotions in a touching and meaningful manner. Hindi is one of the most widely spoken languages in the world.

Two years after India gained independence, on 14th September 1949, Hindi was adopted as the official language of the Union by the Constituent Assembly. Since then, Hindi Diwas has been celebrated across the country every year with great enthusiasm.

Hindi Diwas was celebrated at our school under the guidance and supervision of our Director, Mrs. Prema Kotian; Assistant Director, Mrs. Lata Sagar; Principal, Mrs. Vandana Kamble; Vice Principal, Mrs. Bharti Gadge; and all the esteemed members present.

The programme began with a prayer and a speech highlighting the importance and significance of Hindi Diwas. Some students presented a song based on the theme, “Hindi is our pride, Hindi is our honour.” Several students then shared their thoughts on the importance and special features of the Hindi language.

Some students presented Hindi poems beautifully and rhythmically, while a few students also presented dance and musical performances. As part of the celebration, students of every class prepared creative displays based on songs, poems and thought-provoking messages related to Hindi and displayed them in their classrooms. Photographs of these creative displays were also taken.

The programme helped the students realise that Hindi does not belong to any particular community; it is a language of the people and connects everyone.

Our Director, Mrs. Prema Kotian, Assistant Director, Mrs. Lata Sagar, Principal, Mrs. Vandana Kamble and Vice Principal, Mrs. Bharti Gadge appreciated the students wholeheartedly for their enthusiasm, creativity and active participation in the celebration. Their words of appreciation encouraged the students and boosted their confidence and morale.

The celebration concluded with a beautiful thought dedicated to Hindi:

“Just as a bindi shines beautifully on a woman’s forehead,
Hindi resides in the heart of every Indian.”

Ganpati idol making activity was organized for students in our school. The main objective of this activity was to create awareness among the students about creativity, artistry and eco-friendly Ganeshotsav.

Students enthusiastically participated in this activity. Students created beautiful Ganpati idols using soil and other eco-friendly materials.

Students created their Ganpati idols with great creativity and enthusiasm. This activity gave scope to students’ imagination, talent and manual skills.
The activity was enjoyable, educational and inspiring for the students. All the students gave a message to celebrate Ganeshotsav in an environment friendly manner.

The students of Purushottam High School brought great pride to the school with their outstanding performance at the 10th District Sports Kempo Championship 2026, held at Dombivli on 30th August 2026.

The students displayed remarkable discipline, dedication, perseverance and sporting spirit, achieving a 100% result and securing medals in both Kata and Kumite events.

National Sports Day is celebrated in India every year on 29th August to commemorate the birth anniversary of the legendary Indian hockey player Major Dhyan Chand.

The programme began with the lighting of the diya by our Principal Mrs. Vandana Kamble and AHM Mrs. Bharti Gadge.

Ms. Kshitija Pawar, our sports teacher, highlighted the importance of sports, physical fitness, discipline and teamwork in our lives.
Two videos were shown: one about the life of Major Dhyan Chand and the other about the importance of sports in our lives.

At Purushottam High School, National Sports Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and spirit. The celebration aimed to encourage students to participate actively in sports and understand the importance of maintaining a healthy and balanced lifestyle.

Purushottam High School bid a warm and heartfelt farewell to Mrs. Prema Bangera on the occasion of her retirement after 35 years of dedicated and committed service to the school.

The retirement function was a memorable occasion filled with gratitude, appreciation and fond memories of her long and valuable association with the school. The Management and Staff expressed their heartfelt wishes and appreciation for her contribution and service.

The function was followed by a gracious lunch sponsored by Mrs. Prema Bangera and Mrs. Anupama Lobo, Principal – Primary Section, making the occasion even more special.

The entire Purushottam High School family wishes Mrs. Prema Bangera a happy, healthy and fulfilling retired life. Her presence and contribution will always be cherished and remembered.

Purushottam High School celebrated Onam with great enthusiasm and joy. The teachers participated in the celebration by wearing traditional attire and creating a beautiful Pookalam (floral rangoli).

The significance and traditions of Onam were shared, highlighting the values of unity, togetherness, gratitude and cultural harmony.

The celebration was a joyful and memorable occasion for all the teachers.

Purushottam High School celebrated the 80th Independence Day of India on 15th August 2026 with great enthusiasm, patriotic spirit and pride. The celebration brought together the school management, teachers, students, parents and distinguished guests to commemorate the sacrifices of our freedom fighters and to reaffirm our commitment towards building a responsible and progressive India.

The school was honoured by the presence of Chief Guest Mrs. Lalitha Pravin Garud, an alumna of the 1986 batch, and Guest of Honour Mrs. Ansari Nazma Khatoon, whose presence added grace and significance to the occasion.

The programme commenced with the flag hoisting ceremony, followed by Vande Mataram, the National Anthem and the Rajya Geet. The patriotic spirit continued with a vibrant Kavayat Sanchalan and Patriotic Song, creating an atmosphere of national pride and unity.

A pledge in Hindi was administered to reinforce the values of patriotism, responsibility and citizenship. The gathering also paid tribute to the Founder Members of Purushottam High School, remembering their vision and contribution to the growth of the institution.

The formal programme in the hall began with a warm welcome address by Mrs. Vandana Kamble, followed by a speech by the Pre-Primary Section. A special Pledge for a Drug-Free India was conducted to create awareness among students about the importance of making healthy and responsible choices. The Primary Section presented an energetic Patriotic Dance, adding colour and enthusiasm to the celebration.

The students and the school community also reaffirmed their commitment towards academic integrity through a Pledge for a Copy-Free Examination, followed by a meaningful speech in Marathi by the Secondary Section. Mr. Rajesh Kotian addressed the gathering and shared his thoughts on the significance of Independence Day and the responsibilities of the younger generation.

Address by the Chief Guest

The Chief Guest, Mrs. Lalitha Pravin Garud, addressed the students and shared inspiring thoughts on the significance of Independence Day, the value of education and the responsibilities of young citizens. She encouraged the students to work hard, remain disciplined, uphold good values and contribute positively to society and the nation.

Her words served as an inspiration to the students and reminded them that true independence comes with responsibility, integrity and the determination to make a difference.

The presence of Guest of Honour Mrs. Ansari Nazma Khatoon further added warmth and dignity to the celebration.

A special highlight of the programme was the much-awaited General Proficiency Prize and Best Class Activity – “Welcome Back to School” awards.

Purushottam High School proudly felicitated its outstanding SSC Toppers and Subject-wise Toppers for their exceptional academic performance, dedication and hard work.

In addition, a cash prize of ₹3,000 each for five Merit Students was sponsored by the Management in loving memory of the founders, Lion K. B. Kotian and Lion Lady Jayashree Kotian.

A cash prize of ₹1,000 for Subject-wise Toppers was sponsored by the subject teachers to recognise excellence in individual subjects.

A special prize was awarded for securing 97 marks in English and 98 marks in Social Science along with the contribution from the respective Subject Teachers.

The felicitation was a proud and inspiring moment for the students, their parents and the entire school community. The awards served not merely as a recognition of marks, but as a celebration of hard work, perseverance, determination and the pursuit of excellence.

The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks by the AHM Mrs. Bharti Gadge, followed by the School Anthem.

The Independence Day celebration was a memorable blend of patriotism, gratitude, achievement and inspiration, leaving everyone with a renewed sense of pride in the nation and in the accomplishments of the students of Purushottam High School.

On 12th August 2026, Purushottam High School was privileged to welcome the esteemed members of the Lions Club of Four Bungalows to our school. As a thoughtful gesture towards promoting learning among our students, the Club generously donated books for the students of Standards VI, VII, VIII and IX.

The visit and contribution were greatly appreciated by the school and students. The donated books will provide our learners with opportunities to enhance their writing skills and explore new ideas beyond the classroom.

We sincerely thank the Lions Club of Four Bungalows for their generosity, encouragement and continued support towards our students and their educational journey.

Subject: Children’s Painting Competition

“Art is the key to personality development.”

A Painting Competition was organised at Purushottam High School on 8th August 2026 with the aim of providing students with an opportunity to showcase their creativity, imagination, and artistic talent.

The programme was conducted enthusiastically under the guidance of the school management and staff, including School Director Mrs. Prema Kotian, Academic Director Dr. Lata Sagar, Principal Mrs. Vandana Kamble, and AHM Mrs. Bharti Gadge.

Students from different classes participated enthusiastically in the competition and created attractive and imaginative paintings. They displayed their artistic skills and expressed their ideas to the best of their abilities. Photographs of the students and their beautiful paintings were also taken during the competition.

The competition helped students develop their artistic skills, observation, creative thinking, imagination, and self-confidence. The dignitaries present appreciated the beautiful and creative works of the students and encouraged them to continue exploring their artistic talents.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks to all the participating students, teachers, organisers, and everyone who contributed to the successful conduct of the competition.
