Purushottam High School celebrated Reading Inspiration Day with great enthusiasm to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, the former President of India. The programme began with an introduction, the offering of floral tributes to the portraits, and a prayer. This was followed by a two-minute silence to pay homage to the school’s founders.

During the programme, students delivered speeches highlighting the contributions of Mahatma Jyotirao Phule and Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam. Students also presented summaries of the books Wings of Fire, Shyamchi Aai, and My India: Ideas for the Future, which they had read. The students of Standard V performed a beautiful skit highlighting the importance of reading. Posters and slogans on the theme of reading, prepared by the students, were also displayed.

A quiz competition was conducted during the programme, in which students participated enthusiastically. At the conclusion of the programme, the importance of reading was emphasised, and pens were distributed to the students as gifts. The students also visited the school library to encourage their interest in reading and familiarise themselves with the collection of books available.

The programme was successfully conducted under the guidance of the School Director, Mrs. Prema Kotian; Secondary Section Principal, Mrs. Vandana Kamble; and Vice-Principal and Head of the Marathi Department, Mrs. Bharti Gadge.

The teachers who guided the students included Mrs. Pragya Gamre for the prayer, Mrs. Jayshree Kadam for the book summary presentations, Mrs. Bharti Dhadge for the speeches, Mr. Atul Patil for the posters and slogans, and Mr. Anandrao Padmar for the skit.
